KRWA’s Compliance Check program provides an enhanced level of assistance offered to Kentucky’s water utilities to help them deal effectively and proactively with the ever-increasing regulatory burden. Maintaining full compliance with the Safe Drinking Water Act, the Clean Water Act, and other state and federal requirements has never been more difficult. Regulatory compliance will only become more complex in the future.

Many water utilities do a great job with their compliance programs, but even the best managed and operated utilities slip up on occasion. When this happens, it can cost utilities thousands of dollars to issue Public Notices, they must include the violations in their Consumer Confidence Report, and it can cause embarrassment and increased public skepticism.
