PUMP STATION TECHNICIAN

The City of Ashland is accepting applications for the position of PUMP STATION TECHNICIAN
Utilities Department, Water Distribution Division

Supervisor: Water Distribution Superintendent
Supervises: None
Grade: 9 Pay Range: $26.390-$36.950/ hr.
Class Characteristics: Performs intermediate work maintaining the operation of pump stations, replacing pump motors and or electric motors, troubleshooting, electrical wiring, daily water samples at various locations, mowing grass at all of the pump stations and water towers. Performing electrical work in all other various City buildings/locations. Performs related work as apparent or assigned.
General Duties and Responsibilities: Maintains pump stations. Mows grass at pump stations. Oversees daily water samples. Performs electrical work for various locations. Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Training and Experience: High School Diploma or GED and considerable experience.
Certification/Licensing Requirements: Valid driver’s license. State Master Electrician License or Class III Water Distribution Operator License. Upon eligibility, obtain and maintain a Class IV Water Distribution Operator License.
Availability Requirement: Must be able to work irregular hours and assigned shift. Must be able to respond to calls in emergency situations at all hours.
