2023 Session - That's a Wrap!
The 2023 Regular Session of the Kentucky General Assembly has come to a close with 176 bills and 13 resolutions enacted, despite the session starting off with tempered expectations in January. In the final two days of the 30-day session, the Republican supermajorities in each chamber quickly overrode 15 of the 17 Gubernatorial vetoes, maintaining the clear partisan split between the legislative and executive branches. The majority of bills will take effect 90 days after passage, unless emergency clauses or special effective dates are included.
