City of Livingston Water Manger Positions

Distribution (Class I), Wastewater Treatment (Class II) & Collections (Class II) Operator or Contract Operator, Needed Immediately

The City of Livingston, in Rockcastle Co., is a rural city that is working hard to provide excellent water and wastewater services to citizens. We are looking for an immediate hire that can operator all three of our systems.

The City of Livingston provides services to around 550 customers and small businesses every day. Employees work to keep this life sustaining resource available to everyone while protecting and supporting the environment.

Job Title:

Water Manager

Summary:

The purpose of this position is to operate all three sections of the utilities within the city limits, maintain compliance, and provide quality service to customers.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Observes/reports on facility conditions/operations
• Uses biological/chemical parameters to analyze overall wastewater treatment plant operations
• Work with contracted lab to collect all required samples.
• Maintains facility equipment and housekeeping in assigned area
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors, during inclement weather, and weekends and holidays as assigned
• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Ability to lift minimum of 50 lbs. 
• Good oral/written communication skills
• Mathematical and computer operation skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Possess all three required licenses.
• Be on call of emergency situations.
• Familiar with all sampling and reporting requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma/GED
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license as a condition of continued employment.
• Must be able to maintain all three licenses.
• Pass a physical exam, background check, and drug/alcohol screening, as conditions of employment

Availability Requirements:

• Must be able to work irregular hours in response to emergency situations at all hours, be on-call one weekend a month, and live within one hour from the city.
