City of McKee Water Superintendent
The City of McKee is accepting applications for a water superintendent.
The Water Plant Superintendent is responsible for the supervision of all Water plant employee’s and the operation of the Water plant. The Superintendent is also responsible for a variety of construction and maintenance equipment and for performing manual activities as needed and/or required by the Public Works Department, and responsible for overseeing maintenance on all city dams. Workers in this position may be utilized in other departments as needed. This position requires that the superintendent follow all regulations and laws pertaining to the operation of the Water Plant and Water Distribution system.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
Preparation of daily and monthly report of operations, and related records, in accordance with all state and federal reporting regulations. Assesses and monitors work load and internal reporting relationships; identifies opportunities for improvement; directs and implements changes. Maintains the daily operation of the plant. Supervises plant operators. Assists with planning for departmental budget. Responsible for building and grounds maintenance at the plant. Responsible for maintaining and overseeing distribution lines. Carrying out and/or overseeing City and flood retention dam maintenance.
Required Certifications/licensure:
Must be able to possess and maintain (or acquire within 90 days) a Class III Water Treatment Plant Operators License issued by the Commonwealth of Kentucky
Must be able to possess and maintain (or acquire within 90 days) a Water Distribution License
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Valid Kentucky Driver’s license
Shift varies.
Starting salary: Negotiable based upon experience and licensure.
Competitive salary available upon proof of valid water operation license.
