Control Systems Technician (Paducah, KY)

Paducah Water operates a Class IVA municipal water treatment plant located in Paducah, Kentucky and is currently seeking applications for the full-time position of Control Systems Technician. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Installation, maintenance, and repair of all electrical and electronic equipment of the Water Treatment Plants, booster stations, and water storage facilities.  Assists in all other installation and repair of facilities and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Valid driver’s license.
2. Specialized Technical Degree in Instrumentation or Industrial Electricity.
3. Two years experience as an Instrument Technician and/or Industrial Electrician in an industrial plant or plant atmosphere.
4. The ability to understand ladder logic and the understanding of Ethernet Communications and I.P. Addresses.
5. Basic understanding of 4-20mA DC signals and interfacing with PLC controls.
6. Must be able to obtain a Kentucky Class IVA Water Treatment license upon becoming eligible.
7. Minimum of a Journeyman Commonwealth of KY Electrical License, advancing to Master Electrician upon becoming eligible.

Pay:

$29.06 to $36.33 per hour based on experience and qualifications.

Work Hours:

Eight-hours of scheduled work 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM Monday through Friday. Must be willing and able to work overtime. Emergency work possible at anytime-days, nights, weekends, or holidays. Must participate in a two week, twenty-four hour on-call rotation.

Physical and Work Requirements:

1. Must participate in random drug testing program.
2. Requires climbing, bending, lifting, and carrying up to 150 lbs, as well as exposure to both hot and cold weather. 
3. Must work safely in an environment where possible electrical, chemical and mechanical hazards exist.
