Utility Service Worker I
The City of Augusta is seeking a Utility Service Worker I. This is a working position. The qualified candidate must be a High School Graduate or equivalent and maintain a valid driver’s license issued by the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Candidate must be able to successfully complete a background check and random drug screens. Must also possess or be able to obtain, the following: Drinking Water Distribution Class II License, Waste Water Collection Class II License and Gas operator qualification. Candidate must be computer literate and able to file all applicable reports. Candidate must also be able to perform Water Distribution tasks including but not limited to, meter reading, meter taps, road bores, flush hydrants, leak detection, and other related duties. Also, the candidate must be able to maintain sewer lift stations, sewer lines, make sewer taps, locate sewer blockages, and other related duties. Must be able to operate the following equipment: backhoe, sewer cleaning machine, dump truck (CDL), air compressor, utility and chain saws, welder, cutting torch, jack hammer, sand blaster, road borer, trash pump, bush hog, mower, weed eater, and be able to maintain the equipment. Work is physically demanding, involving heavy lifting, shoveling, digging, etc.
