WESTERN FLEMING COUNTY WATER DISTRICT HAS AN IMMEDIATE OPENING FOR A WATER TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR Class I, II, III or IV certification preferred, but not required.

PAY WILL BE BASED UPON QUALIFICATIONS AND OR EXPERIENCE

Do you have a two year or four-year degree in Sciences??? If so, you can be fast tracked into becoming a Licensed Water Treatment Plant Operator.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED). No previous work experience is required for trainee class. Must be willing to work all shifts including nights and weekends.

Duties include, but are not limited to: Sitting at desk with intermittent standing, walking, stooping; Lifting objects over 25 pounds; working outdoors regardless of weather conditions; Operating vehicles and equipment; working in elevated spaces, confined spaces; Use of stairs and ladders; Exposure to fumes, chemicals and toxic substances.

Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

May be required to perform on-call duties; must be able to respond to calls in emergency situations at all hours.
