Water Treatment Plant Operator (Scottsville)

The City of Scottsville is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of full-time Water Treatment Plant Operator at the water treatment facility located in Scottsville, KY. This is a second shift position with rotating shifts including weekends and holidays. Operates, inspects, and maintains equipment and systems as required for the efficient and effective operation of the City’s water filtration treatment plant. Performs other work-related duties as assigned. Reports to the Water Treatment Plant Chief Operator.

Job Duties:
-Observe water being processed and perform analysis on same.
-Learn procedures for calculating chemical dosages and calibration of chemical feed equipment.
-Under direction of shift supervisor, perform light janitorial, repair, maintenance, and lubrication duties.
-Perform process adjustments as needed to produce potable water.

Preferred Qualifications for Consideration:
-High School Diploma or GED required
-Valid KY Driver’s license or equivalent
-Must be able to lift 50 pounds regularly
-Emphasis in math, biology or microbiology is desirable
-High degree of mechanical aptitude
