Calvert City Municipal Water and Sewer (SUPERINTENDENT)

SUPERINTENDENT

The Calvert City Municipal Water and Sewer System is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Superintendent. Calvert City is located near the northern end of Kentucky Lake in western Kentucky and serves approximately 1,600 water and 1,000 wastewater customers. The City owns and operates a 2 MGD sand – anthracite gravity filter water treatment plant, an 800,000 gpd four-cell aerated lagoon wastewater treatment plant and related infrastructure.

Summary of General Duties: Under administrative direction, the Superintendent manages and directs operations daily operations of the City’s water and sewer system to comply with regulatory standards and maintain system reliability in an efficient and effective manner.

Education and Experience Requirements: Minimum high school diploma or GED with a minimum of ten years of related on the job experience with six or more years of experience in a supervisory role. Preference will be given to a candidate with a Bachelor or Associate degree in a related field of study.

Certification / Licensing Requirements: Certified Kentucky Class IIIA or higher Water Treatment Plant Operator and a Class II or higher Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator or be able to obtain these certifications.
