Leak Detection Specialist/GIS-Asset Management Coordinator

The Caldwell County Water District is currently accepting applications for the position of Leak Detection Specialist/GIS-Asset Management Coordinator

Reports to:          Field Operations Manager

Supervises:         None

Beginning Salary:             $20.00/hr. (based on experience)

This position is a viable and sustainable asset to the water district operations.

General Responsibilities: Monitor and log master meter and monitor meter reading, utilize demand factors to identify areas of water loss in the district, preform leak detection with an acoustic listening device on district infrastructure, perform leak detection with a portable flow meter, verify valve/hydrant/meter locations per as-builts and update GIS mapping system, identify and update system DMA’s, perform annual flushing and valve exercising, assist in completing work orders, Other duties may be assigned such as: water meter change outs, leak repairs, new meter sets, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

Training and Experience: PREFERRED licensed KY Water Distribution License & heavy equipment operator.

School: Graduation from high school or equivalent.

Other: Knowledge of ARCGIS mapping systems 

Availability Requirements:

Must be able to be “ON CALL” (1) one week per month. This also entails working weekends to collect water samples and needed pump station readings. Overtime and On Call pay will be compensated at a generous rate. Workdays are Mon-Fri 7:30am - 4:00pm.
